My personal reaction to this book is wonder. I say this because this book has so much work put into it it’s incredible that the author spent so much time on a book that he didn’t expect to do that well. During reading this book I was skeptical of some of its ideas but in the I agree with the author almost a hundred percent. The most shocking thing to me is how many citations the author had at the end just pages of studies and news reports and many other sources(page 239). After reading this book I look at many things differently when deciding what to believe in, I use these strategies the author brings up in this book. Many of the ideas the author brings up have many different sources that you can look at all of which have some sort of study that proves the idea even more. The book is somewhat easy to understand for my level of reading. I would not recommend this for someone below high school reading level because of some of the ideas and topics are complex. But for the topics and ideas talked about the book goes about them very well, very simple, and very easy to get the basic idea even if you don't understand the whole concept. While this book is easy to understand if you think about the topics they are very complex such as chapter five which talks about seeing things and not knowing if what you saw was real or a trick of your mind. Because of that chapter especially when deciding something I do not put that much on seeing something even if i'm certain because in that situation confidence in an idea is even more dangerous.
